Despite two years of a global pandemic, the resiliency of our area tourism industry has been inspiring. The Omaha Metropolitan Area Tourism Awards will once again honor attractions, restaurants, retail shops, and hotels that have made a lasting impression on locals and out-of-towners. The public is invited to vote for the best tourism businesses in Douglas, Sarpy, and Pottawattamie counties.
Vote online at https://www.visitomaha.com/oma-tourism-awards/ until April 1. Nearly 500 nominations were submitted in four categories. Voters will now choose from the top five most-nominated businesses in these categories. In the event of a tie in the nomination process, both businesses moved on to the voting phase (see the attached for a full list of finalists):
• Best Hotel
• Best Attraction
• Best Restaurant
• Best Retail Outlet
The OMA Tourism Awards provides the opportunity to highlight the best our local tourism community has to offer. The winner in each category will be recognized during National Travel & Tourism Week, May 1-7, 2022. Each winner will be allowed to select an employee, who they feel went above and beyond this past year, to accept the award.
Visit Omaha, Sarpy County Tourism, and the Council Bluffs Convention & Visitors Bureau partner to present the OMA Tourism Awards each year to celebrate the more than 18,000 people who work in the local tourism industry.
