About Juneteenth Events on June 18
The Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Department of Black Studies are seeking volunteers for Omaha's annual Juneteenth celebration. Juneteenth is an important milestone in the African-American community, as it represents the emancipation of African Americans enslaved in the United States.
All participants will receive a free t-shirt to wear in the parade. Shirts are available after June 13. Please contact UNO Black Studies at 402.554.2412 for more information.
Juneteenth Parade
The parade will begin at 10 A.M. at 24th and Lake Streets and end at Koutnze Park (Florence Boulevard).

- Float Decoration - Friday, June 17 (Time TBD)
- Walking in Parade - Saturday, June 18 (10 A.M.)
The Omaha Freedom Festival will be held at the Malcom X Building at 3448 Evans St. from Noon to 5 P.M.
The Festival’s mission is to: Educate, Empower & Entertain the Omaha, Nebraska community about North Omaha culture while bringing awareness to local, social and business resources.
