Ally Einbeck — Because I'm a Bluejay

Announcement

I’m an athlete, a neuroscience major researching the long-term effects of vaping and a health care worker. And I can do it all because I’m a Bluejay. At Creighton you can try everything, and you can do anything.

Find out about the unparalleled research opportunities for Bluejays: creighton.edu/research

Creighton has given me outstanding opportunities. I love that I can be involved in a little bit of everything and prepare myself for the future without feeling overloaded.

When I came to Creighton, I knew I’d be on the rowing team and that I wanted to pursue research. That was my home base. Now I work in a hospital as a medical scribe for the emergency room, and I plan on attending medical school. While at Creighton, I got involved in studying e-cigarettes, the long-term effects of vaping and how it affects overall changes in the lungs.

I like this research project because it’s relevant and understandable. You can talk to anyone about it, and they know exactly what you’re talking about. It’s also new. We can study almost any aspect of e-cigarettes and find new information. We are pushing boundaries to see what we can find.

That’s the thing about Creighton. There aren’t many places where you can do so many things and get valuable experience out of all of them.

I wouldn’t trade my experience at Creighton for the world. It’s made me who I am today.

Students here aren’t just doing one thing. We have so many different opportunities. They’re endless, and I love being able to build lasting and meaningful connections with people from all walks of life.

You can build your story here, and you have endless opportunities to make that story your own.
