We would like to introduce you to our new Criminal Investigations Section Captain, Jeremy Christensen.
Captain Jeremy Christensen began his career with OPD on July 24th, 2000. As an officer, Jeremy worked in UPB in the Northeast and Northwest Precincts, and in CIB in Major Crimes and Homicide.
In 2010, Jeremy was promoted to Sergeant. As a sergeant Jeremy worked in UPB, South Investigations, Narcotics, Field Investigations, Gang Unit and Homicide Unit.
In 2018, Jeremy was promoted to Lieutenant and served as a commander in the Uniform Patrol Bureau, Assault Unit, and Homicide Unit.
Jeremy serves as an adjunct instructor with the Omaha Police Department Training Academy, has served as a Field Training Officer, Rapid Deployment Force, Officer Involved Investigations Team, Clandestine Lab Team, Honor Guard and the OPD Pipe and Drum Corps, and is a member of the OPD Peer Support Team and Nebraska State Critical Incident Stress Management Team. He has received two Lifesaving medals, the Police Ribbon of Excellence, and two Unit Ribbons of Excellence.
Jeremy volunteers as a patrol member and Outdoor Emergency Care Instructor with the Loess Hills Nordic Ski Patrol, and volunteers in various capacities at his local church.
Jeremy earned a Bachelors Degree in Criminology from the University of Northern Iowa.
