Four Omaha Volleyball players earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors earlier this week: Jaiden Centeno, Sami Clarkson, Rachel Fairbanks, and McKenna Ruch.
The 2022 Academic All-District® Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
Centeno started all 28 matches and played in all 106 sets this season. She finished the regular season with 402 digs and 28 service aces.
Off the court, Centeno owns a 3.84 GPA and will graduate with a degree in Kinesiology.
Clarkson also started all 28 matches and saw action in all 106 sets this season. She compiled 991 assists, 194 digs, and 32 service aces this year.
In the classroom, Clarkson has a 4.0 GPA and will also graduate with a degree in Kinesiology.
Fairbanks appeared in 27 matches this year, playing in 102 sets. She recorded 99 kills, 125 digs, and 28 total blocks this season.
Fairbanks has a 3.81 GPA as a Business Administration major and will return for a fifth year in 2023.
Ruch started all 28 matches and appeared in all 106 sets in 2022. She racked up 132 total blocks, 288 kills, and a .361 hitting percentage.
As a student, she owns a 3.78 GPA as a Kinesiology major.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late December.
