Omaha, Neb. – Rep. Don Bacon (NE-02) today responded to the announcement that Nebraska nonprofits and houses of worship will receive $11.4 million from the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP), Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP), and Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) Program.
“Nonprofits and houses of worship have a way of serving our communities in ways the government can’t,” said Rep. Bacon. “The Fiscal Year 2024 Homeland Security Grant Program will assist state and local governments to receive the resources required to support national preparedness goals. This grant funding will support the operations and structures of these organizations to help expand their resources to others in our district.”
This grant will provide critical funding for nonprofits and houses of worship to protect themselves from acts of terrorism, disasters, and the rise of antisemitism faced in the country.
