Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska's 2nd District was officially sworn in as a member of the House of Representatives for the 119th Congress. The ceremony took place in Washington, with Speaker Mike Johnson administering the oath after being selected by a majority of the House.
In his statement, Rep. Bacon outlined several priorities for this congressional term. "The people expect this Congress to get wages rising faster than inflation, secure the border, make our streets safer, achieve energy independence, regain deterrence and respect in the world, deal with the federal debt crisis… and we are going to do it," he said.
Bacon also emphasized his commitment to defense-related initiatives: "I will work aggressively to accelerate innovation across the Department of Defense, strengthen DoD’s cyber enterprise, and support President Trump in establishing strategic deterrence in the cyber domain."
