Rep. Don Bacon has announced the re-introduction of five bills aimed at reducing tax burdens for Americans. The proposed legislation, which was also introduced in the last session, seeks to address various financial challenges faced by taxpayers.

The first bill, H.R. 561: Overtime Pay Tax Relief Act of 2025, proposes a deduction for certain overtime payments by amending the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. Another bill, H.R. 560: Second Job Tax Relief Act of 2025, aims to exclude compensation from secondary employment from income and payroll taxes for certain taxpayers.

H.R. 559: Seniors in the Workforce Tax Relief Act suggests an above-the-line tax deduction specifically for seniors. Meanwhile, H.R. 558: Tip Tax Termination Act proposes that certain tips should not be subject to income taxes for a period of five years.

Finally, H.R. 557: Working Class Bonus Tax Relief Act of 2025 aims to establish a deduction for specific amounts received as bonuses.

Bacon stated, "Americans are suffering from burdensome inflation, picking whether to buy groceries or pay their electric bill and they want us to do something about it." He emphasized his commitment to pursuing meaningful tax relief with these bills.

"The people made it clear last November that they want something done to alleviate their financial hardship," Bacon added. "These bills are a first step in the right direction." He expressed his intention to collaborate with Congress and President Trump to ensure these measures are enacted.
