Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska has extended a welcome to the members of the House Armed Services Committee's Subcommittee on Cyber, Information Technologies, and Innovation. As Chair of the subcommittee in the 119th Congress, Bacon emphasized the importance of addressing cyber threats from nations like China and Russia.
Bacon stated, "America is under attack every day in the cyber domain by adversaries like China and Russia and our military cyber force must be better trained, equipped, and postured to deter and respond to these escalating attacks." He highlighted the need for delivering advanced technologies at commercial speeds to ensure military superiority. Additionally, he pointed out the necessity of transforming defense information networks and electromagnetic spectrum warfare capabilities.
The subcommittee consists of several members from both parties. The Republican members include Elise Stefanik (NY), Pat Fallon (TX), Brad Finstad (MN), Morgan Luttrell (TX), Jen Kiggans (VA), Rich McCormick (GA), Lance Gooden (TX), John McGuire (VA), and Jeff Crank (CO). On the Democratic side, Ro Khanna from California serves as Ranking Member along with Seth Moulton (MA), Bill Keating (MA), Chrissy Houlahan (PA), Jason Crow (CO), Mikie Sherrill (NJ), Pat Ryan (NY), George Whitesides (CA) and Eugene Vindman (VA).
Bacon expressed his commitment to working with colleagues across party lines to tackle these complex national challenges.
