A total of 16 bills were passed into law during the 118th Congress, marking significant achievements for Rep. Don Bacon (NE-02). This brings the number of enacted bills introduced by Bacon to 38 since he joined the House of Representatives eight years ago. His office also resolved 744 out of 814 constituent cases favorably. The website Bacon.House.gov will be updated once all legislation receives a public law number.

Among the bills, H.R. 8621, known as the Strengthening Tribal Families Act of 2024, was amended into H.R. 9076 and became PL 118-258. Other notable inclusions in the FY2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) are sections from several bills such as H.R.10353, which became Sec 1609 of H.R. 5009 and PL 118-159, and H.R.5071 incorporated as Sec 525.

The FY2025 NDAA also features a major military quality of life reform package led by Bacon as Chair of the HASC Military Quality of Life Panel, now Public Law 118-159. It authorizes a historic targeted pay raise for junior enlisted personnel in the U.S. armed forces.

In agriculture, Bacon contributed significantly to provisions in the Farm Bill, accounting for roughly ten percent despite there being over fifty other members on the House Agriculture Committee. His priorities included measures like the SNAP Staffing Flexibility Act and Youth Lead Act.

Bacon commented on his team's efforts: “We have an incredible team who has led the way to get meaningful legislation passed and helped constituents with casework such as IRS refunds, VA benefits, social security and immigration,” said Bacon. “Everyone plays an intricate role in helping the constituents of the 2nd District of Nebraska.”
