Omaha Returns Home vs. Missouri

LEADING OFF

Omaha closes the week with Missouri at Cangilia Field. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. on Sunday between the Mavericks and Tigers. Mizzou is coming off a 3-1 win vs. Southern Illinois earlier this week, while the Mavericks tied at UNI, 0-0.

QUICK KICKS

• The Mavericks played to a 0-0 draw to open the week's action at UNI. They sit 1-1-1 on the season heading into Sunday's contest.

• In goal, Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen recorded her second shutout of the year and made five saves.

• Omaha earned a 1-0 win at Lindenwood with a goal from Emilie Erland in the 76th minute. She was assisted by Morgan Fenton who recorded her first point as a Maverick

• The Mavericks opened 2022 action at home with Oklahoma State. Grace Ostergaard found the back of the net in the 10th minute off a blocked shot from Reagan Bourgeois. OSU went on to win 2-1.

• The Mavericks were tabbed third in the Summit League Preseason Poll for the second straight season.

• Omaha posted a 9-8-2 record last seasons. The nine wins were the most wins in a single-season since the Division I transition.

• Sophia Green and Grace Ostergaard were named Preseason Players to Watch.

• Green led the Mavericks with 13 points on six goals and one assist last year. She closed the regular season with a four-match scoring streak.

• Ostergaard collected 2021 All-Summit Second Team honors. She tallied five points on one goal and three assists.

• Beginning this season, if the score at the end of regulation is 0-0, the teams will earn a draw in their record. Overtime will no longer be played in the regular season.

SCOUTING THE MISSOURI TIGERS

The Tigers are 2-1 to start 2022 action. They earned a 1-0 win vs. SEMO in their home opener on Aug.18. Over the weekend, Mizzou fell to Ohio State, 2-1. The Tigers were tabbed 13th in the SEC Preseason Poll and had four players named to the Preseason Watch List.

TIGERS TO WATCH

• Kylie Dobbs has appeared in both matches this season logging 79 minutes on the pitch. She netter a pair of goals on three attempts. She recorded the game winner vs. SEMO.

• Bella Hollenback logged 180 minutes between the pipes. She made eight saves and allowed two goals over a two-match stretch.

SERIES HISTORY

This is the first meeting between the Mavericks and Tigers.
