Will Rep. Don Bacon work to ensure "Merit-Based Personnel" amendment is in final version of military funding bill?
Representative Don Bacon (R-Neb.) was named to the House and Senate conference committee that will craft the 2024 National Defense Reauthorization Act (NDAA)—the bill that funds America’s military. The House and Senate versions of the NDAA differ on several key points including merit-based recruiting and promotion which are codified in the House version of the bill. On the other hand, the Senate's version of the bill includes funding for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and does not prohibit social and diversity quotas on promotions and assignments.
