Cross Country Primed for First Home Meet in Four Years at Platte River Rumble

For the first time in just over four years, the Omaha Mavericks cross country team will host a true home meet, the Platte River Rumble, at Mahoney State Park.

"This event is the culmination of years of work, but more specifically related to UNO, years of belief in our program," Omaha head coach Cliff Cisar said. "When our team gets to the line tomorrow, I'll see every class of Mavericks I've coached with them. They created the foundation this dream was laid upon and I'm so proud to have this group to represent all of them."

The 6K race will begin at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow's meet will be a terrific opportunity for the Mavericks to showcase all the hard work they have put into this season in front a very passionate Omaha running community.

"I know we are ready to compete. They've trained so consistently over the course of the last nine weeks and we aren't going to change anything about our approach and will go about our business tomorrow to have a successful day," Cisar said.
