Rep. Don Bacon from Nebraska has been appointed as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Cyber, Information Technologies, and Innovation (CITI) by Rep. Mike Rogers, the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. Bacon expressed his enthusiasm and readiness to leverage his four decades of national security experience to enhance the country's security, stating, "America has the best cyber capabilities in the world, but we are also the most vulnerable."

Chairman Rogers praised Bacon's dedication to advocating for servicemembers and military families, highlighting his leadership qualities in national defense. Rogers stated, "Staying ahead of our adversaries in the digital space is vital. I know Rep. Bacon will bring valuable knowledge and expertise to the subcommittee, and I look forward to continuing our work together to strengthen our military."

Reflecting on his previous role as Chairman of the Quality of Life Panel, Bacon mentioned the impactful work done in identifying areas for improvement for those serving the nation. He expressed his commitment to translating the 35 recommendations made by the panel into laws benefiting the all-volunteer force.

The CITI Subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Bacon, holds jurisdiction over various Department of Defense policies related to cyber operations, technology acquisition, artificial intelligence, and defense-wide programs in research and development. Bacon's extensive national security experience and dedication to service position him as a valuable asset in advancing cybersecurity and innovation within the military landscape.
