“Our border is hard broke…”

Washington – Rep. Don Bacon (NE-02) issued a statement regarding his yes vote on H.R. 2 the Secure the Border Act of 2023:

“Our border is hard broke under this Administration. A thousand migrants died last year crossing the border, nearly 100,000 Americans died from Fentanyl, and half of the women coming to the United States are sexually assaulted. It is the worst we’ve ever seen. Our bill directs refugee claims to be made at our embassies and consulates and not at the border, puts barriers at key areas of border, increases judges and enlarges holding facilities, and stops catch and release. I support more legal immigration, but we must stop the current border travesty immediately.”
